History/Lore: In 1784 a French traveler and Ornithologist named Francois Levaillant discovered the stone. A German mineralogist named Ferdinand Wibel also found Tiger Eye in Germany in 1873 while researching a similar stone, Hawk Eye, which is the blue form of the stone Tiger Eye. The Egyptian War Goddess, Goddess of Love and Beauty, and the Goddess of Protection, Home, and Childbirth are associated with the Tiger Eye.
